Welcome to Heartland Harvest Winery

Established in 2006 and sitting on seven acres of vineyard in historic rural Lee County, Iowa, on the bluffs above Fort Madison is this modern day winery with a Tuscan flare. Featuring Country Wines and French & American Varietals Currently producing nine grape and nine fruit wines.

Heartland Harvest Vineyard & Winery was the result of friends gathering one evening over a few bottles of wine made by winemaker and co-owner Mike Pence. The Murphys and Pences wanted a business where they could enjoy the outdoors and being with people. The increased interest in grapes and wine seemed to be the answer they were looking for. The Murphys moved to Wyoming, but remain active co-owners in the business. The day to day operations of the vineyard & winery are overseen by Kathy and Mike Pence. Most of the time you will find the Pences at the winery where they are always happy to stop what they are doing, visit and answer questions.

We invite you to visit the winery to sample the wines and browse through the gift shop with many unique items. The winery is available for private tasting and small groups by appointment.

The winery offers free wine tasting and a large tasting room with many wine related items in the gift shop. You will find many local Iowa made items including cheeses, meats, pottery, wrought iron and hand made crafts. Browse our store, purchase a bottle of Heartland Harvest wine and meat and cheese tray and relax in the Wine Garden listening to music.
